
FLORIDA — A 40-year-old Ave Maria man was killed and two other people were injured in a two-vehicle crash early Saturday morning on State Road 29 north of Interstate 75 in Collier County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when a Chevrolet Silverado driven by the Ave Maria man was traveling north on SR-29. A Ford Fusion driven by a 21-year-old Felda resident, with a 59-year-old Washington resident as a passenger, was traveling south on the highway.
Troopers said the Chevrolet entered the southbound lane, where it collided with the Ford.
The driver of the Chevrolet was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver and passenger of the Ford suffered non-incapacitating injuries, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash remains under investigation.
