TEXAS — A man was found dead from a gunshot wound early Saturday morning on San Antonio’s northwest side, and investigators are working to determine whether the shooting is connected to another violent incident reported nearby.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, officers and EMS crews responded around 12:50 a.m. to the 2100 block of Vance Jackson Road after receiving a report of a person who was injured or in medical distress.
While treating the victim, emergency responders discovered he had suffered a gunshot wound. Despite life-saving efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the victim is believed to be in his late 20s or early 30s. His identity has not been released.
Investigators said they currently do not have any suspect information.
Detectives are also examining whether the fatal shooting may be connected to another shooting reported around 11 p.m. Friday approximately one block away. Authorities have not confirmed a link between the two incidents but said the possibility remains under investigation.
The San Antonio Police Department continues to investigate the shooting.
