INDIANA — An Anderson man was arrested early Thursday after a police pursuit that began in Noblesville ended in Anderson and led to the discovery of methamphetamine, cash and other drugs, according to authorities.

The 32-year-old man faces preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement, possession of methamphetamine and dealing in methamphetamine, police said.

According to the Noblesville Police Department, an officer attempted to stop a vehicle shortly after midnight June 4 near Town Center Boulevard and Tegler Drive. Police said the driver was operating a vehicle with false and fictitious plates and had stopped in the middle of the roadway at a green light.

Authorities said the driver failed to stop, prompting a pursuit that traveled north on Interstate 69 into Anderson. The chase ended when Indiana State Police deployed stop sticks, bringing the vehicle to a stop.

Police said the driver was taken into custody without incident.

During a search of the vehicle, officers reportedly found approximately 1.5 pounds of methamphetamine, $15,865 in cash and additional drugs.

Authorities have not released the suspect’s name. Police said the charges are preliminary and remain subject to review by prosecutors.
