SOUTH CAROLINA — Authorities are searching for a man accused of shooting another person at a motel in Spartanburg County early Thursday morning.
According to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded shortly after midnight to the Quality Inn Motel at 6690 Pottery Road following reports of a shooting.
Investigators said Paxton Tyler Bullard is wanted on multiple charges, including attempted murder, after allegedly fleeing the scene before deputies arrived.
When deputies reached the motel, they found a victim suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was transported to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Authorities said the victim and Bullard were not known to each other before the incident.
Witnesses identified Bullard as the suspected shooter and told investigators he left the area in a vehicle. Detectives said surveillance footage from the motel and other evidence collected during the investigation supported witness statements.
Arrest warrants have been issued charging Bullard with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling and malicious injury to personal property.
Investigators believe Bullard may be traveling in a white Chevrolet Tahoe displaying Mississippi license plate RDM836. He is considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone who sees Bullard or the vehicle is urged not to approach him and to call 911 immediately.
The investigation remains ongoing.
