
FLORIDA — A chain-reaction crash involving six vehicles shut down a stretch of Interstate 95 in Brevard County on Thursday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred near mile marker 207 by Port St. John Parkway in Cocoa.
According to FHP, the driver of a car hauler failed to stop for traffic ahead and struck the rear of another vehicle. The initial collision triggered a chain-reaction crash involving four additional vehicles.
Three people were transported to Holmes Regional Hospital following the crash. Troopers said two of the victims suffered serious injuries, while a third sustained minor injuries.
All southbound lanes of I-95 in the area were closed as emergency crews worked to clear the scene and investigate the crash.
The incident remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
