FLORIDA — One person was airlifted to a hospital after a crash involving an SUV and a semi-truck on Interstate 95 in Martin County Wednesday night.
According to Martin County Fire Rescue, crews responded shortly after 9:30 p.m. to the northbound lanes of I-95 near the 99-mile marker, just before Kanner Highway.
First responders arrived to find one person suffering from traumatic injuries. Paramedics stabilized the victim at the scene before the individual was transported by LifeStar helicopter to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Authorities said the crash involved an SUV and a semi-truck. Additional details about how the collision occurred or the condition of the injured person were not immediately released.
The crash led to the closure of all northbound lanes of I-95 in the area for a time while emergency crews worked at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
