OHIO — Police are investigating after a woman’s body was found inside an abandoned home in East Cleveland on Wednesday morning.
According to the East Cleveland Police Department, officers responded to a house in the 1700 block of Shaw Avenue after receiving reports of an unresponsive woman.
When officers searched the abandoned residence, they discovered the woman deceased inside the home. Investigators said she had been dead for several days before being found.
Police have identified the woman but are not releasing her name until family members have been notified.
Authorities said there were no immediate signs of foul play, though the investigation remains ongoing.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the woman’s cause and manner of death.
No additional information has been released.
