
NORTH CAROLINA — A husband and wife were killed in a single-vehicle crash Monday afternoon after their vehicle left the roadway and struck a bridge pillar in Catawba County, according to police.
The crash happened around 2:20 p.m. June 1 on Conover Boulevard West near 1st Avenue South in Conover.
Authorities identified the victims as Nathan Lehman, 76, and Harriet Lehman, 73.
Police said Nathan Lehman was driving a Hyundai when the vehicle veered off the road, struck a telephone pole and then collided with a bridge pillar. Nathan Lehman, who was driving, and Harriet Lehman, who was a passenger, were pronounced dead as a result of the crash.
Investigators said weather conditions were not a contributing factor in the collision.
The crash remains under investigation.
