OHIO — One person was killed and another was injured in a head-on crash Tuesday morning in Delaware, according to police.
The collision occurred around 5:20 a.m. near Fern and London roads.
Delaware Police Chief Adam Moore said a Honda minivan was traveling south on U.S. 42 when it collided head-on with a Kia SUV.
The driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not released the victim’s identity.
The driver of the Kia was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital with injuries. Police said the driver is expected to recover.
Additional details about what led to the crash were not immediately available.
U.S. 42 is currently closed in both directions between U.S. 23 and Jegs Place as authorities continue their investigation. It is unclear when the roadway will reopen.
