OHIO — A portion of Interstate 80 in Trumbull County is currently closed Tuesday morning after a crash involving a tanker truck and a box truck, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Troopers responded just before 4 a.m. to the westbound lanes of I-80 between Hubbard and Liberty.

Investigators said a tanker truck sideswiped a box truck, causing the box truck to cross through the median, strike a guardrail and roll over.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the driver of the tanker truck left the scene following the crash.

The driver of the box truck suffered minor injuries.

The westbound right lane of I-80 is currently closed as crews work to remove debris from the roadway. Troopers said the closure has affected traffic in the area while cleanup operations continue.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash and is seeking information on the tanker truck involved.
