KENTUCKY — One person was killed and another was injured in a head-on crash Monday evening in Bracken County, according to Kentucky State Police.
The crash happened around 5:40 p.m. on the AA Highway near Old Pea Ridge Road.
State police said Deron Johnson was driving a 2023 Ford Escape southbound on the AA Highway when the vehicle crossed the center line and collided head-on with a 2020 Dodge Ram.
Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene by the Bracken County Coroner’s Office.
The driver of the Dodge Ram was flown to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for treatment of injuries that troopers described as non-life-threatening.
Kentucky State Police have not released information on what may have caused the Ford Escape to cross the center line.
The crash remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police Post 6 Collision Reconstruction Investigators.
