FLORIDA — One person is dead and another was seriously injured following a crash involving a garbage truck and an SUV in Collier County on Monday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at the intersection of State Road 29 and Janes Scenic Drive. Authorities said the collision involved a garbage truck and an SUV.
Florida Highway Patrol reported that one occupant of the SUV was transported to Physicians Regional Hospital, where they were pronounced dead. The driver of the SUV suffered serious injuries and was also taken for medical treatment.
No information about the identity of the victim or the cause of the crash has been released.
The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
