GEORGIA — A woman died after a shooting Sunday evening in the 800 block of Porter Street, according to police.
Officers with the Savannah Police Department’s Northwest Precinct responded to the area at approximately 6:25 p.m. after receiving reports of a gun being discharged.
When officers arrived, investigators located evidence indicating a shooting had occurred but did not find a victim at the scene. Police later learned the victim had arrived at a local hospital suffering from gunshot wounds.
Authorities said life-saving measures were performed, but the woman died from her injuries at the hospital.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no arrests have been made.
