VIRGINIA — One person was killed and another was injured after a vehicle pursuit ended in a crash involving a residence in Bedford County early Saturday morning, according to Virginia State Police.

The crash occurred at approximately 1:21 a.m. on Cotton Town Road, about one-half mile south of Turner Road.

State police said the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a 2013 BMW 335 for speeding. The vehicle allegedly refused to stop, prompting a pursuit.

According to investigators, the BMW lost control on Cotton Town Road, ran off the right side of the roadway and crashed into a residence.

A passenger in the vehicle, identified as 28-year-old Ke’Eric Kashawn Davis of Lynchburg, was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene, police said.

The driver was transported to a Lynchburg hospital with injuries sustained in the crash.

Authorities said no one inside the residence was injured.

Virginia State Police said charges are pending against the driver. The crash remains under investigation.
