NORTH CAROLINA — A Trent Woods man is facing multiple felony drug charges after investigators seized more than 25 grams of fentanyl during an ongoing narcotics investigation, according to the Craven County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said members of the Neuse River Narcotics Task Force arrested 38-year-old Jeffrey Allen Pettigrew Jr. on May 28 following an investigation into the alleged distribution of illegal drugs.
Investigators reported recovering more than 25 grams of fentanyl along with an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency during the operation.
Pettigrew was charged with two counts of trafficking in fentanyl, two counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver fentanyl, maintaining a dwelling for the sale of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Officials said Pettigrew was also served with an outstanding felony warrant from Pamlico County for possession of fentanyl.
He is being held without bond at the Craven County Confinement Facility.
Craven County Sheriff Chip Hughes said the arrest is part of the task force’s ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking across Craven, Carteret and Pamlico counties.
The Neuse River Narcotics Task Force includes investigators from the Craven, Carteret and Pamlico county sheriff’s offices, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and the New Bern Police Department.
The investigation remains ongoing.
