
TEXAS — A 22-year-old Amarillo man was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning in Randall County, according to the Texas Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 5:38 a.m. in the 14610 block of South Western Street.
Investigators identified the driver as Diego Hernandez, 22, of Amarillo. Hernandez was driving a 2022 GMC Sierra and was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.
According to a preliminary investigation, the pickup was traveling southbound on South Western Street when the driver failed to negotiate a curve and left the roadway.
Troopers said the vehicle then struck a parked gooseneck trailer with its front end before rolling onto its right side.
Authorities reported that Hernandez was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
The Texas Highway Patrol continues to investigate the fatal collision.
