
TEXAS — A motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash in downtown Dallas early Sunday morning, according to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash occurred during the overnight hours on Woodall Rodgers Freeway near the ramp to northbound Interstate 35E.
Investigators said the motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, fell from the motorcycle and was subsequently struck by an unknown vehicle. Authorities said the driver of that vehicle left the scene.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead. The victim’s identity has not been released.
The crash prompted the closure of the northbound ramp to Interstate 35E as well as the ramp from Field Street while investigators worked at the scene.
Authorities have not released a description of the vehicle involved in the collision.
The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the fatal hit-and-run crash and is seeking information about the vehicle that left the scene.
