
PENNSYLVANIA — A person was killed after a dirt bike collided with a Pittsburgh Regional Transit bus in Pittsburgh’s Homewood neighborhood on Saturday evening, according to officials.
First responders were called to the intersection of Frankstown Avenue and Brushton Avenue at approximately 5:55 p.m.
According to a spokesperson for Pittsburgh Regional Transit, a person riding a dirt bike through the intersection was involved in a collision with a Pittsburgh Regional Transit 86-Liberty bus.
Pittsburgh medics pronounced the rider dead at the scene. Pittsburgh Public Safety said the victim was a male, but his age has not yet been released.
Officials have not said whether any passengers on the bus were injured. It remains unclear if anyone else was hurt in the crash.
Port Authority Police are leading the investigation into the incident.
Authorities have not released additional details as the investigation continues.
