FLORIDA — A number of Florida public school districts are finishing the 2025-26 school year this week, with calendars showing final student days on either Thursday, May 28, or Friday, May 29.
Districts listing Thursday, May 28, 2026 as the final day for students include Duval County Public Schools, where the district calendar marks May 28 as both the last day of school and the end of the grading period.
Other Florida districts ending classes on May 28 include Bay District Schools, where students will have an early release on the final day before post-planning days for teachers begin May 29.
Several districts are scheduled to close out the school year on Friday, May 29, 2026. Those include St. Johns County School District, whose master calendar lists May 29 as the “Last Day for Students” and the end of the fourth quarter.
Additional Florida districts with May 29 student end dates include Lake County Schools, Orange County Public Schools, Palm Beach County School District and Clay County District Schools.
Many districts also have graduations, teacher planning days, post-planning workdays and other end-of-year activities scheduled immediately after students leave for summer break.
