
KANSAS — Two people from Abilene were arrested on drug and weapon-related charges following a methamphetamine distribution investigation in Dickinson County, authorities said.
According to the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, its drug enforcement unit began investigating suspected methamphetamine distribution about two months ago.
Investigators said officers executed a search warrant May 13 at a residence in the 1200 block of 2900 Avenue in rural Dickinson County. During the search, authorities said they seized methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a firearm.
As a result of the investigation, arrest warrants were issued May 22 for Brandon Ray Hixson, 44, and Sarah Marie Drummond, 43, both of Abilene.
Officials said Hixson was arrested May 23 by the Abilene Police Department and booked into the Dickinson County Jail on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, no drug tax stamp and criminal possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
Drummond was arrested May 24 by the Abilene Police Department and booked into the Dickinson County Jail on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and no drug tax stamp.
The investigation remains ongoing.
