INDIANA — A Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office deputy arrested a suspected drunk driver early Tuesday morning after a crash along Interstate 69 near Green River Road in Vanderburgh County.
Deputies said the crash happened just after 1 a.m.
According to investigators, 25-year-old Alia Langley, of Henderson, was sitting on a guardrail when deputies arrived at the scene. Authorities said the vehicle was facing the wrong direction and had heavy damage.
Deputies said the person who found the crash told them Langley was not wearing a shirt and asked them not to call police.
Investigators said Langley initially refused to admit she was driving and told deputies, “Don’t try and arrest me.”
Authorities also said Langley had a visible cut on her shin but denied being injured.
According to deputies, Langley later admitted she had been at a club and was “drunk as hell” before the crash.
Investigators said she had taken the vehicle from a family member without permission.
Deputies said Langley failed field sobriety tests and refused both a portable breath test and a chemical test.
No additional information about charges was immediately released.
