WISCONSIN — A Mount Horeb man was arrested early Friday morning in Columbia County after authorities said he led deputies on a high-speed chase and was later found with drugs in his vehicle.

According to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy attempted to stop a speeding vehicle around 2 a.m. Friday on Highway 60 in the Township of Hampden. Investigators said the driver failed to stop, prompting a pursuit.

Officials said the driver continued for several miles before stopping in the middle of the roadway and eventually pulling onto the shoulder. Deputies took the driver into custody without further incident.

The driver was identified as 51-year-old Andre Scott of Mount Horeb. He was booked into the Columbia County Jail.

Scott faces several charges, including fleeing or eluding law enforcement, failure to install an ignition interlock device, operating after revocation, possession of methamphetamine, possession of THC, possession of drug paraphernalia, bail jumping and outstanding warrants. Authorities also issued multiple traffic citations.

The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office said the Columbus Police Department and Brown’s Towing assisted with the investigation.
