GEORGIA — A man and woman are facing multiple felony charges after investigators seized illegal drugs and weapons during a drug trafficking investigation in Cordele, according to the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said investigators with the sheriff’s office Special Response Team executed a search warrant May 21 at a residence on Gum Road.

During the search, deputies recovered methamphetamine, marijuana, multiple Schedule II and Schedule IV narcotics, drug distribution materials and scales.

Investigators also seized numerous firearms, including sawed-off shotguns, a modified fully automatic rifle and a firearm reported stolen from a previous Crisp County case.

According to the sheriff’s office, 53-year-old Benjamin Watson and 66-year-old Cynthia Ellis were both arrested following the search.

Both face charges including trafficking methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute controlled substances, possession of illegal weapons, theft by receiving stolen property and multiple counts of possession of firearms during the commission of a felony.
