
INDIANA — Indiana State Police are investigating a shooting that left one person injured Friday morning in Miami County and led to the arrest of a 19-year-old on a narcotics charge.
According to police, troopers responded to U.S. 31 near County Road 200 North in Peru after reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found two people at the scene, including one person suffering from a gunshot wound.
Investigators said 19-year-old Jadyn Watts of Niles was found to be in possession of a narcotic drug and was taken into custody.
The person who was shot was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Authorities said no other arrests have been made at this time.
The shooting remains under investigation.
