LOUISIANA — Three people were arrested on drug-related charges after authorities searched a home in Port Barre that investigators said had been the subject of repeated complaints about suspected drug activity.

According to the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies searched a home on Bayou Road on Wednesday.

Authorities said Jesse P. Barnett III was charged with possession of methamphetamine. Shirley Denis Hargroder, 52, and Erin Marie Guillory, 48, who both lived at the same address, were arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz said the property, which is owned by Barnett, had been a “constant problem” for the neighborhood, with numerous Crime Stoppers tips reporting drug activity at the residence.

Guidroz said deputies used an amphibious approach to reach the rear of the property in an effort to safely approach the home and maintain the element of surprise during the operation.

The sheriff’s office is asking anyone with additional information about the case to contact investigators at 337-948-6516 or submit anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers.
