
VIRGINIA — More than 2,400 customers across Virginia are without electricity Friday morning, according to PowerOutage.us.
The outage tracking website reported 2,401 homes and businesses currently without power statewide. The outages affect about 0.06% of the more than 4 million customers tracked across Virginia.
Arlington County has the highest number of outages in the state, with 557 customers without electricity. Fairfax County reports 362 outages, while Charlottesville has 230. Alleghany County is reporting 201 outages, and Richmond City has 164 customers without power.
Among utility providers, Dominion Energy reports the largest number of outages statewide with 1,626 customers affected. Appalachian Power Company reports 318 outages, while BARC Electric Cooperative has 218 customers without electricity.
PowerOutage.us said Virginia currently ranks ninth in the nation for the number of active outages and 11th nationwide for the percentage of customers affected.
Utility crews continue working to restore service across the state Friday morning.
