
LOUISIANA — Interstate 49 southbound remained closed Friday morning in Shreveport following a fatal crash involving two 18-wheelers.
Authorities said the crash happened around 1:20 a.m. on I-49 near Dr. Martin Luther King Drive.
Police confirmed one person was killed in the crash and two other people were injured.
The southbound lanes were shut down north of North Market and remained closed as of 8 a.m. while crews worked at the scene and investigated the crash.
Drivers were urged to avoid the area and use Louisiana Highway 1 or U.S. Highway 71 as alternate routes.
No additional information about the victims or what caused the crash had been released Friday morning.
