SOUTH CAROLINA — One person died in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday on Johns Island, according to the St. John’s Fire District.
Fire Chief Ryan Kunitzer said the crash happened on the 2900 block of Bohicket Road near Sammons Road.
Officials said one person was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not released the victim’s identity.
Investigators said it remains unclear what caused the crash or what led up to the collision.
The Charleston County Coroner’s Office is expected to release the victim’s name at a later time.
The roadway has since reopened.
The crash remains under investigation.
