VIRGINIA — A large police presence was reported Wednesday morning at a trailer park in Roanoke County as authorities worked to serve an arrest warrant on an individual barricaded inside a home.
According to Roanoke County Police, the situation is unfolding in the 5000 block of Yellow Mountain Road. Officials said the suspect barricaded himself inside the residence after officers attempted to serve the warrant.
SWAT teams responded to the scene and were working to resolve the situation safely. Multiple law enforcement units, along with Roanoke County Fire and Rescue personnel, were also on scene assisting with the response.
Authorities have not released details about the suspect or the nature of the arrest warrant.
The incident remained active as of Wednesday morning. Officials have asked the public to avoid the area while crews continue their response.
