One person arrested following multi-agency drug bust in North Carolina

NORTH CAROLINA — A Vance County man is facing multiple drug and gun charges after a multi-agency investigation led to the seizure of heroin, fentanyl pills, a firearm and cash, according to authorities.

Reported deputies from Nash and Vance counties, Henderson police officers and agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives searched a home in the 300 block of Little Mill Road on Thursday.

During the search, investigators said they seized 850 dosage units of heroin, 84 grams of fentanyl pills, a semi-automatic rifle, $5,100 in cash and drug paraphernalia.

Authorities arrested Ta’Shawn Baskerville following the operation.

Baskerville faces multiple charges, including two counts each of trafficking heroin and trafficking fentanyl, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver heroin and fentanyl, manufacturing a Schedule I controlled substance, maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and misdemeanor marijuana possession.

Officials said Baskerville is being held in jail without bond.
