
KENTUCKY — A man was killed early Sunday morning in a crash involving a Perry County ambulance in eastern Kentucky, according to Kentucky State Police.
The crash happened around 1:51 a.m. on KY-15 in Jackson, according to troopers.
Investigators said John Southwood, of Lost Creek, was driving northbound when his vehicle crossed the center line and collided with the ambulance.
Southwood was pronounced dead at the scene by the Breathitt County Coroner’s Office.
Police said two people inside the ambulance were taken to a hospital for treatment. Their conditions were not immediately released.
Troopers said Southwood was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Toxicology and autopsy results are pending.
The crash remains under investigation, and collision reconstruction is ongoing.
