OHIO — A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle Saturday night in the North Linden area of Columbus, according to police.
The crash happened around 9:45 p.m. near the intersection of Cleveland and Republic avenues. Columbus police said an unknown vehicle was traveling northbound on Cleveland Avenue just north of Republic Avenue when it hit a pedestrian attempting to cross the roadway.
The pedestrian was taken to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in critical condition, where they later died.
Police said the driver did not remain at the scene following the crash.
The Columbus Police Accident Investigation Unit responded and is investigating the incident.
