TEXAS — Houston police are investigating after a body was found Saturday evening in Greens Bayou near Interstate 10 in east Houston.
According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded around 6:34 p.m. to the bayou near Uvalde Road after a fisherman spotted the body and called 911.
Investigators said the body of an adult man was found along the edge of the bayou near the water.
Police said the body appeared to have been in the water for several days, making it difficult for investigators to determine the man’s age, race or other identifying features.
Houston police homicide detectives, the department’s dive team and the Harris County medical examiner responded to the scene to recover the body.
Authorities said they do not currently believe the death is suspicious, though the investigation remains ongoing.
Police said there is no known threat to the public.
