GEORGIA — A crash has closed multiple lanes on Interstate 285 South on Atlanta’s Westside Friday morning, causing major traffic delays.
The crash happened just past Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and before Benjamin E. Mays Drive on the Westside Perimeter.
Officials said the crash occurred in the same area where a full weekend closure is scheduled to begin Friday night for road work.
There was no immediate word on injuries.
Traffic cameras show vehicles moving slowly through the area as multiple left lanes remain blocked by the crash scene. Traffic backups stretched nearly to the Cobb County line, according to traffic maps.
Drivers are urged to expect delays and seek alternate routes if possible.
