
FLORIDA — A documented Latin Kings gang member and convicted felon was arrested Wednesday after deputies seized drugs and a firearm during a search warrant in Apollo Beach, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators said the HCSO Gang Unit served a search warrant at a home tied to 25-year-old Abraham Ruelas, who authorities described as a three-time convicted felon.
During the search, deputies said they recovered cocaine, marijuana, promethazine with codeine, psilocybin mushrooms, a firearm and ammunition.
Ruelas was arrested and charged with multiple felony offenses, including trafficking in cocaine, trafficking in hydrocodone, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell or deliver, possession of cannabis sativa resin, possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining a public nuisance structure for drug activity, and possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon.
Authorities said Ruelas is a documented member of the Latin Kings gang.
The investigation remains ongoing.
