One person arrested for trafficking meth and cocaine in North Carolina

NORTH CAROLINA — A multi-county drug investigation in North Carolina’s Triad has led to the arrest of a man accused of trafficking large amounts of cocaine and methamphetamine, according to the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators with the Guilford County Narcotics Task Force and the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office concluded the investigation on April 29 by executing several search warrants in Guilford and Randolph counties.

During the searches, deputies said they seized approximately four kilograms of cocaine, 17.5 kilograms of liquid methamphetamine and about $22,000 in cash.

Authorities arrested 35-year-old Jose Antonio Gonzalez-Rodriguez following the operation.

He is charged with trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking cocaine, maintaining a dwelling for the sale or storage of controlled substances, simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Gonzalez-Rodriguez is being held at the Guilford County Detention Center in Greensboro under a $1.3 million secured bond.
