MICHIGAN — A 52-year-old man was arrested early Tuesday morning in Muskegon Township after troopers said they found cocaine and an illegally possessed handgun during a traffic stop.
According to the Michigan State Police, troopers stopped the man on Whitehall Road shortly after 3 a.m. for defective equipment and failure to maintain his lane.
During the investigation, troopers determined the man was allegedly driving while intoxicated.
Police said the man was arrested and later found to be carrying cocaine and an unregistered pistol. Authorities said the suspect was prohibited from possessing a firearm because of prior felony convictions.
