
ILLINOIS — A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Chicago’s Southwest Side late Tuesday night, according to police.
The crash happened just after 11 p.m. in the 6800 block of South Pulaski Road in the city’s West Lawn neighborhood.
Chicago police said a 53-year-old man was walking in the street near the sidewalk when he was struck by an orange Honda SUV traveling north on Pulaski Road.
Authorities said the driver continued northbound after the collision and did not stop at the scene.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police have not released the victim’s identity pending notification of family members.
The Chicago Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Unit is continuing to investigate the crash as officers search for the driver involved.
