FLORIDA — Five people were arrested in Okeechobee County after authorities seized fentanyl and drug paraphernalia during searches at two residences where a 9-month-old child was present, according to the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office.

Members of the Okeechobee Narcotics Task Force, along with the sheriff’s office SWAT and Community Action Teams, executed narcotics search warrants Friday in the 800 block of Northeast 29th Terrace following a weeks-long investigation.

The sheriff’s office said investigators received numerous complaints alleging fentanyl and other illegal narcotics were being sold from the homes. Detectives conducted multiple controlled drug purchases during the investigation, authorities said.

Officials said a 9-month-old child was present inside one of the homes during several of the transactions. The child was reported to be in good health and was removed from the residence by the Department of Children and Families because of the living conditions and the presence of illegal narcotics.

Among those arrested was 27-year-old Camryn Rae Cashwell, who faces charges of possession of fentanyl with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and child neglect. Authorities said she has several prior misdemeanor arrests and convictions involving possession and theft-related offenses.

Her father, 63-year-old Hubert Cashwell, was arrested on charges of violation of probation, possession of fentanyl and possession of drug paraphernalia. According to the sheriff’s office, he has 126 prior felony convictions, including drug and burglary-related offenses, and previously served two Florida prison sentences.

Also arrested were Toni Ruffino Deibler, 65; Bailey Mason Schloerb, 28; and Michael Ray Roberts, 65.

Authorities said Roberts was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Investigators said he has six prior felony convictions, including several involving controlled substances.

Deibler was charged with possession of fentanyl with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia. The sheriff’s office said Deibler is a convicted felon in a previous narcotics sales case.

Schloerb was arrested on charges of possession of fentanyl with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and child neglect. Authorities said Schloerb has four prior felony convictions, including offenses involving the sale and possession of controlled substances.

The investigation remains ongoing.
