SOUTH CAROLINA — The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash involving a member of the Greenwood City Police Department, according to city officials.
Authorities have not released the officer’s name pending notification of family members.
City officials said a news conference is scheduled for Wednesday at Greenwood City Hall to provide additional information.
Officials also asked the public and media to keep the officer’s family and the Greenwood Police Department in their thoughts while respecting the family’s privacy.
No additional details about the crash were immediately released.
