OKLAHOMA — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash involving an SUV in Tulsa on Friday afternoon, according to authorities.

Emergency crews responded around 4:20 p.m. May 9 to the area of 47th Street and Sheridan Road following reports of a crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV.

Investigators said a 91-year-old man driving an SUV was traveling northbound on Sheridan when he turned west onto 46th Street.

At the same time, 46-year-old Justin Dye was riding a 2024 Harley-Davidson motorcycle southbound on Sheridan, according to the Tulsa Police Department.

Police believe the SUV failed to yield and pulled into the path of the motorcycle, causing the collision. The impact threw Dye from the motorcycle.

Dye was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries, authorities said.

Investigators said they are continuing to gather evidence as the investigation remains ongoing.
