
TEXAS — More than 55,000 customers across Texas are without power as of Monday morning, according to PowerOutage.us.
The outage tracker reported 55,064 customers without electricity statewide, affecting about 0.35% of the more than 15.6 million customers being tracked.
Texas currently has the highest number of power outages in the nation and ranks first for the percentage of customers affected, according to the website.
Nueces County has the largest number of outages in the state, with 14,566 customers without power. Montgomery County reported 10,797 outages, followed by Bexar County with 5,227.
Other counties with significant outages include Travis County with 2,489 customers without electricity, Cameron County with 2,401 outages, Harris County with 1,980 outages and Wood County with 1,950.
Among utility providers, American Electric Power Texas reported the most outages statewide with 21,370 customers affected. Entergy reported 6,209 outages, while CenterPoint Energy had 5,914 customers without power. CPS Energy reported 5,452 outages and Oncor reported 4,318.
Officials have not released a statewide cause for the outages. Crews are continuing restoration efforts across affected areas Monday morning.
