
SOUTH CAROLINA — A bicyclist was killed Sunday morning after a crash involving a vehicle near Columbiana Centre, according to the Columbia Police Department.
Police said officers were called to the scene on Columbiana Circle around 10:45 a.m. after receiving reports of a crash involving a bicycle and a motor vehicle. The bicyclist was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Authorities said the crash happened on Columbiana Circle, the roadway surrounding the mall’s parking lots. Investigators remained at the scene Sunday afternoon as they worked to determine what led to the collision.
The victim has not yet been publicly identified by the Richland County Coroner’s Office. Police said the bicyclist was an adult male.
The Columbia Police Department said it is leading the investigation into the fatal crash.
