GEORGIA — One person died and several others were injured in a fiery crash involving a tanker truck early Sunday morning on Interstate 85 in DeKalb County, authorities said.

DeKalb County fire crews were called around 2 a.m. to the northbound lanes of I-85 near Shallowford Road after reports of a multi-vehicle crash.

When crews arrived, they found several vehicles involved in the wreck, including a tanker truck that had caught fire.

Officials said one person died in the crash. Several other people were injured, but authorities have not released the extent of their injuries.

The northbound lanes of I-85 remained closed Sunday morning as investigators worked at the scene.

Authorities have not released additional details about what led to the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
