
NORTH CAROLINA — One person was hospitalized after a shooting in northwest Charlotte on Friday, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Police said the shooting happened on Old Forester Lane, off Mt. Holly Road. Investigators found between 30 and 40 shell casings in a backyard at the scene. A bullet hole was also visible in a window, and the backyard door was shattered.
Authorities said the victim was likely shot in Charlotte but was later taken to a hospital from an address in Huntersville. Police have not released details about how the victim got to the second location or the extent of the injuries.
CMPD said the investigation remains active, but there is no danger to the public at this time. No additional information has been released.
