
ALABAMA — A dump truck driver was killed Friday afternoon in a crash in Limestone County, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
Troopers said the crash happened around 4:15 p.m. on New Cut Road near Lydia Corey Road, about three miles east of Athens.
Investigators said a Peterbilt dump truck left the roadway and struck a culvert bridge.
The driver was taken to Huntsville Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Authorities identified the driver as 46-year-old Rodell K. Burton of Athens.
The crash remains under investigation by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
