
LOUISIANA — A shots-fired complaint in Rayville led to a drug seizure and arrest Thursday morning, according to the Richland Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Rayville Police said officers responded around 9:50 a.m. May 7 to reports of gunfire in the area of South Circle. Witnesses told police an individual in a black Mercedes with Texas license plates fired multiple shots at another vehicle before leaving the area.
Deputies with the Richland Parish Sheriff’s Office later located the suspect vehicle at a residence on Blackmon Street. Authorities said investigators also conducted an investigative stop involving a person connected to the vehicle.
During the investigation, deputies executed search warrants at the residence tied to the case and reported finding suspected narcotics and other items, including:
- 18 grams of suspected cocaine powder
- 1,686 dosage units of suspected ecstasy
- 56 suspected Xanax pills
- 160 suspected Adderall pills
- 547 suspected oxycodone pills
- 7.2 ounces of suspected marijuana
- 3.5 ounces of suspected synthetic cannabis
- Promethazine syrup
- $530 in cash
- Digital scales commonly associated with narcotics distribution
Authorities said Dijon Wilkins was arrested on active distribution warrants and booked into the Richland Parish Detention Center on charges related to possession of cocaine and possession of legend drugs.
Officials said Wilkins’ bond was set at $115,000.
The sheriff’s office said the investigation remains ongoing and additional arrests and charges are possible.
