OHIO — A man from Euclid won $50,000 in the Ohio Lottery after replaying numbers he found on a discarded ticket.

According to the Ohio Lottery, the man said he rarely plays the lottery and had only played a few times before. He found a Pick 5 ticket on the ground and decided to play the same numbers, although he did not win at the time.

The man said he and coworkers were feeling lucky on April 28, so he pulled the original ticket from his glove compartment and asked a clerk to replay the numbers.

This time, the numbers 7-3-4-2-1 were selected in the evening Pick 5 drawing, winning him $50,000 on a $1 straight bet.

Ohio Lottery officials said the odds of matching all five numbers in order are 1 in 100,000.

Pick 5 drawings are held twice daily at 12:29 p.m. and 7:29 p.m. statewide.
