
INDIANA — An inmate who left the Edinburgh Correctional Facility in Johnson County was taken back into custody Friday morning, according to the Indiana Department of Correction.
An IDOC spokesperson said Montez Beech was taken into custody by correctional officers around 9:30 a.m. Friday, May 8.
Officials said Beech left the minimum-security facility Thursday night. According to IDOC, he was picked up around 9:30 p.m. May 7 by “a known associate” who is now considered a person of interest.
Beech had been serving time for auto theft following a March 2025 conviction in Hamilton County, officials said.
No additional information was immediately released.
