
TEXAS — Three people have been arrested and federally charged following a multi-county drug investigation in Central Texas, according to the McLennan County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Texas.
Authorities identified the suspects as Broughm Cheyenne Pate, Matthew Devin Badger and Christopher Monroe Sanders. All three are charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance.
The McLennan County Sheriff’s Office said its Organized Crime Unit and the Waco Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit conducted a joint operation May 5 following what officials described as a lengthy investigation into a drug conspiracy.
Multiple agencies assisted during the operation, including the Sheriff’s Office SWAT team, the Fugitive Apprehension and Special Tasks team, the Waco Police Department SWAT team, the U.S. Marshals Service, the Teague Police Department and the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators executed search warrants and arrests across McLennan, Limestone and Freestone counties, including in the Waco, Mexia and Teague areas.
Officials said investigators seized about 826 grams of methamphetamine, 7 grams of cocaine, 47.25 grams of marijuana, two rifles, a pistol, $4,384 in suspected drug proceeds and a vehicle pending forfeiture proceedings.
Authorities said the months-long investigation also resulted in the seizure of nearly 3,400 grams of methamphetamine before the arrests were made.
One additional person was arrested on unrelated outstanding warrants during the operation.
If convicted, Pate, Badger and Sanders could face between 10 years and life in federal prison.
